The ground floor is open plan with a dining area which seats four comfortably. The lounge area seats four on two comfy leather sofas and has a TFT wide screen television with freeview, DVD player and a CD/radio cassette player for your entertainment. There is also a gas fire for cosy nights in. The front door, a stable door, leads into the ground floor area and spiral stairs rise to the first floor via a bright airy atrium with giant fish hanging from the exposed beams.
The kitchen comprises of modern units, dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge, as well as a Stoves stainless steel fan oven, five ring gas hob and extractor hood. All the usual mod cons are provided and the breakfast bar creates a natural divide between the kitchen and dining area; great also for sitting watching your chef prepare dinner whilst sipping a glass of wine.
There are two good sized bedrooms that sleep 4 with ensuite to the master bedroom and a family bathroom upstairs. The main bedroom has a lovely cottage feel to it, with ceilings and exposed beams with antique pine furnishings and a window seat for watching the world go by. There is a double bed, bedside cabinet with lamp, a clock radio and a hair dryer. The bedroom leads onto the ensuite shower room, contemporary in design with modern fittings, luxury double shower and Italian designer basin. The second bedroom is also spacious and airy. It has twin beds with bedside cabinets, bedside lamp and a clock radio.
The
bathroom has a bath. with a shower over and has a white suite with a seaside feel to it. The boiler is a combination boiler, which
means there is always hot water no matter how many people want a bath or
shower. All gas and electric costs are
included in the price of your holiday, so there's no annoying meter to keep
topping up! There is an iron and
ironing board and an airer. Bed linen can be
provided at extra cost, or you can bring your own if you prefer (bottom
sheet, double and single duvet covers and pillow cases are required). Please
let us know if you require linen and we will ask our "linen lady" to contact you. Please
bring your own towels and tea towels and the usual consumables (loo rolls, bin bags etc). Oh, and don't forget your favourite CDs
and DVDs.
Parking
in Padstow is not a problem when you are armed with the following
information: There is a public car park called Lawn Car Park, about 100 yards up the hill from the
cottage that charges £1 a day off peak and around £7.70 a day in peak season. What we
do is offload our stuff outside the cottage (quickly!) with the four-way
flashers on and then carry on down past the cottage, take the first turning
on the right (Dennis Road), the first turning on the left (Treverbyn Road) and park for free in the street. It's just
a couple of minutes walk from the cottage. For the enjoyment of
Please don't forget that this cottage is on one of the roads into Padstow, North Cornwall - it is an area of outstanding natural beauty and can get really busy during peak periods. Most holiday cottages have a changeover on Saturdays and the roads can be hectic. If you're looking to get away from it all and everyone, go somewhere else!!
